TL;DR — Use PageRecall only on your own device, only for your own browsing. Your data is yours. We can't read it. Free plan has 14-day history. Pro is $5/month with a 7-day free trial. Don't do anything harmful or illegal. That's the gist.
Important — If you lose your secret encryption key, your data is permanently unrecoverable. Save it in a password manager the moment you sign up. We genuinely cannot help you recover it.
Agreement to Terms
By installing the PageRecall Chrome extension or accessing the PageRecall web application at pagerecall-webapp.vercel.app, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use PageRecall. These Terms apply to all users — Free and Pro — and govern your use of the extension, web application, and any related services provided by PageRecall.
What PageRecall Does
PageRecall is a privacy-first Chrome extension that captures your browsing sessions, encrypts them client-side using AES-256 encryption, and syncs the encrypted data to your personal cloud storage. You can then search, recall, and analyze your browsing history through a personal dashboard. PageRecall is a personal productivity tool. It is not intended for monitoring other people's browsing activity. Use of PageRecall on devices you do not own, or to record sessions of users who have not consented, is strictly prohibited.
Accounts & Registration
- —PageRecall uses Google OAuth for authentication. You must have a valid Google account to use PageRecall.
- —You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account.
- —PageRecall receives your email address, display name, and profile photo from Google solely for account identification purposes.
- —Upon first sign-in, PageRecall generates a unique AES-256 secret key and displays it to you once.
- —You are solely responsible for saving and securing this key. PageRecall does not store it and cannot recover it.
- —If you lose your secret key, your encrypted data becomes permanently inaccessible. This is by design — it means we cannot access it either.
- —PageRecall accepts no liability for data loss resulting from a lost secret key.
- —You must be at least 13 years old to use PageRecall.
- —If you are under 18, you represent that a parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
- —PageRecall is available for personal, non-commercial use on the Free plan. Commercial use requires a Pro subscription.
Free & Pro Plans
- —Unlimited session tracking.
- —14-day history retention.
- —AES-256 encrypted storage and MongoDB cloud sync.
- —Activity heatmap and basic analytics.
- —Google sign-in + secret key authentication.
- —Free plan users do not need to provide payment information.
- —Everything in Free, plus unlimited history retention.

- —Pro subscriptions are billed monthly or annually via Stripe. You may cancel at any time.
- —Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. No partial refunds are issued for unused time.
- —A 7-day free trial is available for new Pro subscribers. No credit card is required to start a trial.
- —We offer a full refund within 7 days of your first Pro charge if you are unsatisfied, no questions asked.
- —After 7 days, refunds are issued at our discretion for exceptional circumstances.

Acceptable Use
You agree to use PageRecall only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree NOT to: — Use PageRecall to record the browsing activity of any person without their explicit consent. — Install or operate PageRecall on a device you do not own or have authorization to use. — Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the PageRecall extension or web application. — Attempt to access another user's encrypted data. — Use PageRecall to collect data for surveillance, stalking, or any harmful purpose. — Circumvent, disable, or interfere with security features of PageRecall. — Use automated tools to scrape, harvest, or extract data from PageRecall's servers. — Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit PageRecall without a written agreement. Violation of these rules may result in immediate account termination without refund.
Your Data & Ownership
You own your data. All browsing history, session metadata, and SEO metadata captured by PageRecall belongs entirely to you. PageRecall does not claim any ownership, license, or rights over your encrypted data. We are a storage and tooling layer — not a data controller in the traditional sense, because we cannot read what we store. You may export or delete your data at any time. Upon account deletion, all your encrypted data is permanently removed from our servers within 24 hours. By using PageRecall, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store your encrypted data on your behalf solely for the purpose of providing the service. This license ends when you delete your account.
Intellectual Property
The PageRecall name, logo, extension, web application, and all associated software, design, and content are owned by PageRecall and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of PageRecall without our prior written consent. Nothing in these Terms grants you any rights to PageRecall's intellectual property other than the limited right to use the service as described herein.
Privacy
Your use of PageRecall is also governed by our Privacy Policy, available at pagerecall-webapp.vercel.app/privacy. The Privacy Policy is incorporated into these Terms by reference. The short version: your browsing data is AES-256 encrypted in your browser before reaching our servers. We store only ciphertext. We never sell your data. We never use it for advertising.
Disclaimers & Limitations
- —PageRecall is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
- —We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times.
- —We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue PageRecall at any time with reasonable notice.
- —While we take measures to ensure reliability, PageRecall is not a backup service.
- —We are not liable for any loss of data resulting from service outages, bugs, or infrastructure failures.
- —Lost secret keys result in permanent, unrecoverable data loss. This is a fundamental property of end-to-end encryption and is not a service failure.
- —To the fullest extent permitted by law, PageRecall's total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the service shall not exceed the amount you paid to PageRecall in the 12 months preceding the claim.
- —We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages of any kind.
Termination
You may terminate your account at any time by deleting your data from Settings and uninstalling the PageRecall extension. Free plan users may simply uninstall. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account without notice if you violate these Terms, engage in abusive or illegal conduct, or if we reasonably believe your use poses a risk to other users or our infrastructure. Upon termination, your right to use PageRecall ceases immediately. Encrypted data associated with a terminated account will be deleted within 30 days.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes — such as changes to pricing, data handling, or user rights — we will provide at least 14 days' notice via the PageRecall extension popup or your registered email address. Continued use of PageRecall after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree with updated Terms, you must stop using PageRecall and may request account deletion.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of PageRecall shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first, followed by binding arbitration if necessary. Nothing in these Terms limits your rights as a consumer under applicable local law, including EU/UK consumer protection regulations.
